Blade הסיפור סובב סביב בלייד, צייד ערפדים "מהלך-יום" אשר נולד עם דם של ערפד ושל אדם לאחר שאימו הותקפה על ידי ערפד. בזמן ששהה ביפן בשל משימה כלשהי, נתקל בלייד בבייקון פרוסט, הערפד שרצח את אימו. בלייד נלחם ב"התקיימות", ארגון מסתורי המאוכלס מערפדים הנשלט על ידי פרוסט.
