Flashpoint נקודת שבירה "שניות מאסון" היא דרמת אקשן חדשה מבית CBS המספרת על יחידת תגובה אסטרטגית בשם SRU. היחידה מורכבת מצוות עילית של אנשי משטרה אשר יודעים לעשות את העבודה שלהם. אירועים עם בני ערובה, תפיסת כנופיות, ניטרול פצצות, שיכנוע אנשים לא להתאבד הם רק חלק מהדברים שהיחידה עושה. היחידה משתמשת בשוקרים חשמליים, רימוני הלם, צלפים, זיהוי קולי, מחשבים ולווינים שונים כדי לבצע את תפקידה. שוטרי היחידה מוכשרים בייחוד עבור המצבים הנ"ל, ביכולתם להבין כיצד עובד ראשם של הפושעים, ולתמרן אותם בכדי למנוע ממצבים שונים להחמיר ובעצם להציל חיי אדם
