“בית הקלפים” (House of Cards) היא הדרמה המקורית הראשונה של חברת הענק “Netflix” (לבד מ”לילהאמר” שהיתה קו-פרודוקציה שקדמה לה). כל 13 פרקי הסדרה עלו בו בזמן ביום שישי האחרון. היא תשודר בהוט-וי-או-די ואחר כך בהוט-3. הסדרה המקורית של הבי-בי-סי, אדפטציה לספרו של הפוליטיקאי השמרן מייקל דובס, היתה סדרת פולחן, והסדרה החדשה עוררה עניין כה רב עד שהוחלט כבר על עונה שנייה שלה. זו סדרת הטלוויזיה הראשונה של פינצ’ר ושיתוף הפעולה השני שלו עם השחקן זוכה האוסקרים קווין ספייסי (קדם לו הסרט “שבעה חטאים” של פינצ’ר). לצדו מככבת בסדרה רובין רייט (“פורסט גאמפ”, “הנסיכה הקסומה”).
